Sosogi-zome (pouring dye) is a traditional dying method used for Tenugui (Japanese hand towels) and Yukata (cotton kimonos for summer). Sosogi-zome fabric is sold as Tanmono (fabric in rolls). Sosogi-zome dying makes it possible to use either side of the fabric as the “right side.” The rolls of fabric meet the needs for different use. They can be cut into towel sizes or used as they are to decorate a room.
